I setup a computer beneath the window nearest to the porch where the nest was. I then ran a long usb extension cable to a webcam that was attached to the ceiling of the porch with velcro. The connection between the extension cable and the webcam cable was sealed with silicon. The webcam used was a Logitech QuickCam Deluxe for Notebooks.Most of the time I had the webcam setup to periodically capture stills using Yawcam. Sometimes I would use the software that came with the webcam to capture video. I also took close-up pictures of the chicks once a day with a digital camera. Unfortunately because the macro lens I used required me to get very close I ended up spooking them. | |
